These services are provided for students enrolled in CSUSB Distributed Learning courses and the instructors who teach them.
Palm Desert Campus students can visit PDC's Helene A. Hixon Information Resource Center, managed by librarian Risa Lumley, for research assistance and computer access.
Options for Students in Off-Site Courses
The Pfau Library has a wide variety of Article & Journal databases and Ebooks, available to CSUSB students anytime, anywhere, from our Web site. You will be prompted to login as a CSUSB user. Please note that you must be registered as a current student with CSUSB to get off-campus access to the library's online resources. If you believe you are registered but cannot login, consult your instructor, or contact Stacy Magedanz, Distributed Learning Liaison Librarian, 909-537-5103, email@example.com
If a book or article you want is not available online from Pfau Library, login to our ILLiad Interlibrary Loan system to request it.
Palm Desert Campus students can have books delivered to the PDC library. Please allow at least one week for delivery. Book delivery is not currently available for other locations.
Articles are delivered to your ILLiad account, and usually arrive in 2-3 days.
Please observe the due date on the materials sent to you. Patrons are responsible for materials at the time of check out by the library staff until the safe return of material to the Pfau Library. The patron will be charged for any fines related to material that are lost in the mail. It is strongly suggested that you insure any materials you return for at least $100.00. The postmark is considered the return date.
Please return material to:

Pfau Library items may be renewed online, see Renew Items on Pfau Library’s Web site at www.lib.csusb.edu for more information. Other items that we borrow from other libraries are not renewable.

Borrowing from Other Libraries
We encourage you to try the Pfau Library first, and to use our Interlibrary Loan services, for any resources you may need. Other library options:
- If you live in southern California near an academic library that is a member of IEALC, you can borrow from them with a special IEALC Card. View participating IEALC institutions. To get an IEALC Card: contact Stacy Magedanz, email@example.com or 909-537-5103.
- If there is a public library in your area, you may already be eligible to borrow as an area resident. Contact your local public library for more information.
You can include links to the Pfau Library's online resources, including articles, journals, and other data, from your course Web pages. Please see Linking to Online Resources for details.
